Summary

X. Summary

The nature of God and of man requires that man must be radically changed in order to be acceptable to God. That radical change is described in Scripture as a new birth that God works in man, without the assistance of man. It is a creative act of the Holy Spirit. The evidences of this creative act are faith and repentance, which in turn produce other distinguishing marks. The new birth is God’s work, wrought in man through the Holy Spirit, which results in true spiritual life that is evident by the manner of life of the converted sinner.
